Ministry of Social Affairs Traces 9,401 Catastrophic Survivor PBI JKN Participants
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is tracing the whereabouts of around 9,401 individuals who are participants in the BPJS Kesehatan programme under the Penerima Bantuan Iuran Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (PBI JKN) segment, who have not been identified in the latest data verification process.
“Around 9,000 of these have not been identified. We will trace or match them with BPJS Kesehatan data to ensure whether they have moved locations or service facilities,” said Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf during a press conference following a limited meeting with BPS Head Amalia Adininggar in Jakarta on Wednesday evening.
Saifullah emphasised that these participants are still fundamentally entitled to PBI JKN benefits. However, the verification process is still necessary to ensure that the distribution of benefits is on target and in line with the current field conditions.
“These are the ones not found in the BPS field data matching process,” he explained, while assuring that the tracing is part of ongoing efforts to update data based on DTSEN to make the national health insurance programme run more accurately and accountably.
Although the participation of these beneficiaries has been automatically activated, it will still be re-verified to ensure that social protection assistance from the government is received by those who truly need it, by BPS and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
In the process that has been ongoing for about the last month, BPS has successfully verified 105,129 individuals out of a total of 106,153 data targeted in the first phase.
From that number, BPS found that 3,934 BPJS Kesehatan participants in the PBI JKN segment who are catastrophic disease survivors have passed away, and their participation will be transferred.
Then, 89,559 individuals are still alive and truly suffering from catastrophic diseases, so they have the potential to continue participation in the PBI JKN Programme.
Meanwhile, around 9,401 individuals have not been found and are currently still in the process of further tracing by BPS field officers.
