The Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia is relocating teaching and learning activities for students at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 29 Pamekasan to Sampang Regency for the 2026-2027 academic year. Coordinator of the Family Hope Programme (PKH) for the Madura Region, East Java, Hanafi, stated in Pamekasan on Wednesday that this was done because Sampang already has a permanent building, whereas the one in Pamekasan is still under construction. “The relocation of SR students to Sampang is only temporary, and they will return to Pamekasan once the construction process of the building in Pamekasan is complete,” he said. Sampang is the only regency on Madura Island that has a permanent Sekolah Rakyat building and it will begin operating in the 2026-2027 academic year. During the registration opening at that time, 50 individuals became students at the school. For the 2026-2027 academic year, SRMP 29 Pamekasan is only accepting a quota of 30 people, or one study group. “So, those being moved to Sampang will be all of them, namely the first and second batch students,” Hanafi said. The locations are in Campor Village and Rangperang Daja Village, Proppo District, then Larangan Tokol Village, Tlanakan District, and Bicorong Village, Pakong District. In accordance with regulations, the land determination process by the central government is due by July 2026 at the latest, while construction will commence in 2027. “Thus, students who have been undertaking learning activities since the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 academic years, including new students for the 2027/2028 academic year, are expected to be able to occupy the permanent building prepared by the government,” he said.
