Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs has assured the distribution of aid to earthquake victims in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, in accordance with the quantities required by the local government during the emergency period. “Whenever a disaster occurs, the Ministry of Social Affairs is always present alongside other government elements on the ground to carry out handling, including the distribution of logistical aid in the emergency phase,” said Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf when met in Jakarta on Monday. He assured that his side is also preparing various follow-up social aids during the post-emergency period for the affected communities, including the earthquake victims in East Flores. As reported by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), there are 1,131 affected residents, with some evacuating due to the 4.7-magnitude earthquake that occurred in East Flores on Wednesday (8/4) in the early hours. The BNPB Central Operations Directorate confirmed that several significantly impacted areas include Terong Village, Lamahala Jaya Village, Dawata, Karing Lamalouk, Waiwerang, and Ipi Ebang in Adonara Sub-district, as well as Motonwutun Village and Watobuku in East Solor Sub-district.
