Ministry of Social Affairs Establishes Five Key Points in Anti-Corruption Pledge
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has established five key points of emphasis within an Anti-Corruption Pledge to ensure that the governance of all public service programmes remains transparent and accountable.
During the Anti-Corruption Pledge Ceremony held at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Monday, the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, stated that these five shared commitments must be implemented by all staff, ranging from heads of work units to field officers.
The five points agreed upon in the pledge include: first, maintaining integrity, as the managed budget represents the rights of underprivileged communities; second, ensuring that the President’s priority programmes, such as ‘Sekolah Rakyat’, are entirely free from any form of corruption; third, requiring Heads of Work Units (Satker) to be actively involved in controlling and supervising staff, prohibiting them from neglecting their oversight duties; fourth, ensuring that all procurement processes for goods and services are timely, procedurally correct, and administratively orderly; and fifth, issuing a strict instruction not to sign any documents if there is doubt or if inaccuracies are discovered.
Saifullah emphasised the importance of administrative compliance from the outset to prevent potential legal issues in the future. In this regard, all personnel have been requested to organise their records and remain ready for audits at any time, whether by the internal Inspectorate General or external agencies, such as the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
“Many problems arise not because of bad intentions, but because administration is disorderly or specifications are not supervised. Small incorrect habits can become major problems later, therefore there must be no tolerance for deviations,” he asserted.
Through this pledge, the Ministry of Social Affairs aims to drive a transformation in work culture under the slogan “Kemensos Hemat, Layanan Hebat, Tanpa Korupsi” (Kemensos Economical, Great Service, Without Corruption). This initiative is intended to ensure that every rupiah of state funds is used efficiently, delivers a real impact for vulnerable groups, and remains free from manipulative practices.
