Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes Aid to Fire Victims in Gambir

The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has distributed logistical aid to the victims of a fire on Jalan Batu Ceper 8, Kebon Pala, Gambir, Central Jakarta. The assistance includes items ranging from food to children’s clothing.

“Emergency logistics were distributed to the evacuees today (Tuesday, 1/9),” stated Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) in a written statement on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

The details of the aid provided consist of 1,000 ready-to-eat meal packages, 310 mattresses, 200 blankets, 120 roll mats, and 2 multipurpose tents. Additionally, the aid includes 150 sets of children’s clothing, 150 pieces of house dresses, 310 single shower kits, and 10 packages of kidswear. The total value of the entire aid package reaches Rp 534,489,450.

Gus Ipul revealed that the Jakarta Social Services and the Disaster Preparedness Volunteers (Tagana) DKI Jakarta have also established a public kitchen to meet the food needs of the residents.

Furthermore, the Directorate of PSKB of the Ministry of Social Affairs is providing Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) for the community members who remain in evacuation centres. The evacuation points are located at the RW 05 post, a parking lot, and a badminton court.

“The community is temporarily evacuating in tents provided by Kemensos, the Social Services, and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). Meanwhile, the Jakarta Social Services, BPBD, and local government leadership (forkopimda) are currently conducting assessments and data collection regarding the impact of the disaster,” Gus Ipul concluded.

Previously, a fire struck a densely populated residential area on Jalan Batu Ceper 8, Kebon Pala, Gambir, Central Jakarta on Monday (31/8). There were no fatalities or injuries reported in the incident. The police are still investigating the cause of the fire. Approximately 114 houses were destroyed by the flames, affecting 310 families.
