Ministry of Social Affairs Closes Registration for National Disability Commission Members
The Selection Committee officially closed the registration period for candidates for the National Disability Commission (KND) at midnight on Sunday (20/9). This recruitment process successfully garnered high enthusiasm from hundreds of participants across various regions in Indonesia.
The Chairman of the Selection Committee, Mohammad Nuh, stated that the closing of registration proceeded according to the established deadline. The committee noted that hundreds of applications have been entered into the system and are ready for immediate processing.
“Registration closed on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at 23:59 WIB, with a total of 869 applicants, consisting of 380 male applicants and 190 female applicants,” Nuh said in a written statement on Monday (21/9/2026).
Nuh explained that the composition of applicants includes both persons with disabilities and non-disabled individuals. Committee data shows that the number of applicants with disabilities reached 297, while the non-disabled group totalled 572.
“For males within the disability group, there are 157, and 74 females; meanwhile, for non-disabled male applicants, there are 223, and 116 females,” detailed Mohammad Nuh.
Based on the types of disability, the physical disability group dominated with 172 applicants. The remainder consisted of visual sensory disabilities (49), hearing sensory disabilities (49), mental disabilities (15), intellectual disabilities (7), and multiple disabilities (5).
High enthusiasm was particularly evident among the productive age group under 35, which reached 248 applicants. Other applicants were divided into the 35-45 age range (193), 46-55 (88), 56-65 (40), and those above 65 years of age (1).
The educational backgrounds of this year’s selection participants were also highly varied. The majority of applicants held Diploma 4 (D4) or Bachelor’s (S1) degrees, with 381 applicants, followed by other educational levels distributed evenly.
These hundreds of applicants are spread across 37 provinces throughout Indonesia. The detailed breakdown of the applicants’ locations includes:
West Java (142), DKI Jakarta (96), East Java (71), Central Java (69), North Sumatra (47), Banten (44), East Nusa Tenggara (26), Special Region of Yogyakarta (25), South Sumatra (22), West Sumatra (21), Aceh (21), Lampung (20), South Sulawesi (18), Riau (12), Southeast Sulawesi (9), East Kalimantan (8), West Nusa Tenggara (7), West Kalimantan (7), Bengkulu (7), South Kalimantan (7), Bangka Belitung Islands (5), Highland Papua (5), Central Papua (4), Central Kalimantan (4), Papua (4), West Sulawesi (4), Riau Islands (4), North Sulawesi (3), Southwest Papua (3), North Maluku (3), Maluku (2), North Kalimantan (2), Jambi (2), Central Sulawesi (2), West Papua (2), Bali (2), and Gorontalo (2).
The next stage will focus on the administrative selection process for all applicant files. The results of this document verification are scheduled to be announced to the public on Monday, 28 September 2026.
The selection committee also expressed appreciation for the high level of public enthusiasm during this recruitment process.
