Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, met with the Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Jakarta today. The meeting discussed the results of the update to the National Single Social-Economic Data (DTSEN) Volume 2 for 2026, conducted by BPS.

Gus Ipul explained that DTSEN is updated every three months. For the second quarter in April, the Ministry received the update results 10 days earlier than the previous quarter.

“Alhamdulillah, this is due to our joint agreement to enable faster distribution. The BPS Chief and her team have accelerated the submission of the updated DTSEN results by 10 days, so instead of the usual 20th, we received it on the 10th. Alhamdulillah, for this second quarter, we have already received it on the 10th,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement on Monday (13/4/2026).

Gus Ipul stated that DTSEN Volume 2 from this update will be used as the basis for determining regular social assistance (Bansos) for the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and Staple Food Card (BPNT) in the second quarter.

“I am very grateful; alhamdulillah, DTSEN is becoming increasingly solid. DTSEN continues with concrete steps, so the errors keep decreasing,” he said.

In addition to serving as the basis for determining regular Bansos for the second quarter, the data from this update is also used as the foundation for recruiting prospective students for the People’s School for the 2026/2027 academic year.

“So, for People’s School students, there is no registration; what exists is outreach based on DTSEN, particularly targeting Decile 1 and Decile 2,” he added.

The results of this DTSEN update have also been unified with population data from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dirjen Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

“Alhamdulillah, the matching of DTSEN with Dukcapil continues to be strengthened,” said Gus Ipul.

At the same venue, BPS Chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti explained that the results of the DTSEN Volume 2 update for 2026 are divided into family and individual records.

There are changes from the version 1 to version 2 update results; previously, family records numbered 95.0 million families, increasing to 95.3 million families in version 2. Meanwhile, individual records, previously 289.0 million individuals, became 289.3 million in version 2.

“We updated this, with around 314,000 deaths based on SIAK, and during our ground checks, we found 356,000 deaths. But there are also newborns, reactivations of NIK and family cards, so the net is as I mentioned earlier,” she said.

Amalia added that based on this DTSEN update, BPS also found an inclusion error of 11,014 Beneficiary Families (KPM), who are social assistance recipients in Decile 5 and above.

“We found an inclusion error of only 11,014 (KPM) or 0.06% of the first-quarter social assistance recipients. The total first-quarter social assistance recipients are 18.15 million families,” she concluded.

For additional information, the event was also attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Robben Rico, Deputy Head of BPS Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, and other related officials.
