Ministry of Social Affairs and Central Sulawesi Provincial Government Strengthen Coordination for DTSEN Update
Palu (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) and the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government are strengthening coordination in updating the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) to ensure social assistance (bansos) distribution is more accurate and on target.
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf, during his visit to Palu on Monday, stated that the visit was aimed at coordinating follow-up actions for President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic programmes, which focus on three main aspects.
He explained that the first is to provide accurate data through tiered updates starting from RT and RW levels, villages, to district/city and provincial governments, resulting in uniform and integrated data in DTSEN.
According to him, the government also provides opportunities for the public to participate through a proposal and objection mechanism in the data update process.
The public, he said, can access the Cek Bansos application, the 021-171 call centre, or WhatsApp services at 08 877 171 171.
“We have opened all channels, both formal and participatory routes. The President wants this data to be open, corrected, and well understood by the public,” he said.
He explained that the determination of decile rankings from 1 to 10 is carried out by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), while the Ministry of Social Affairs, along with other ministries and local governments, is responsible for updating the data according to real field conditions to ensure aid reaches the right targets.
Furthermore, the Social Minister also emphasised the importance of social assistance in driving community empowerment.
“Social assistance is not just about receiving it, but it must empower the community. The principle is temporary social assistance, permanent empowerment. This is the President’s emphasis,” he said.
He explained that social assistance will continue to be provided to meet basic needs, but in the future, it will be directed towards supporting the economic independence of beneficiaries.
In addition, the Social Minister also discussed the Sekolah Rakyat programme, aimed at underprivileged families to equalise access to education and as part of breaking the chain of poverty.
He said that in Central Sulawesi, there are currently two pilot Sekolah Rakyat schools, one each in Palu City and Sigi Regency, which can accommodate up to 1,000 students from primary, secondary, to high school levels, as part of efforts to break the poverty cycle through education.
