Ministry of Religious Affairs to Disburse Rp 4.5 Trillion in Operational Assistance for Islamic Schools Before Eid
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) aims to ensure that the funds for the Operational Assistance for the Implementation of Raudhatul Athfal (RA) and the Operational Assistance for Madrasah (BOS) – Phase I for the 2026 fiscal year – are credited to the recipients’ accounts before Eid. The Minister of Religious Affairs, Prof. KH Nasaruddin Umar, stated that the disbursement of BOP RA and BOS Madrasah is not merely a routine agenda, but rather a part of the strategy to maintain the operational stability of Islamic educational institutions during this crucial period leading up to the holiday. “Our target is clear: the funds must be disbursed before Eid al-Fitr. The activities of these institutions must not be disrupted,” said Nasaruddin in Jakarta on Tuesday (24 February 2026). The disbursement of BOP RA and BOS Madrasah is a form of government support in realising quality religious and Islamic education,” he said. According to him, the budget to be disbursed in this first phase amounts to Rp 4.5 trillion, consisting of Rp 428 billion for BOP RA and Rp 4.1 trillion for BOS Madrasah. “This budget is intended for approximately 31,000 RA and 52,000 private madrasahs.” The Director General of Islamic Education, Amien Suyitno, explained that this year, the government is changing the pattern of distributing the budget for BOP RA and BOS Madrasah. If previously the funds were distributed quarterly, starting in 2026, the mechanism will be streamlined into two phases per year – based on semesters.
