Ministry of Religious Affairs Staff to Work from Home Every Friday: Can Citizens Still Handle Marriage Books?

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has confirmed that marriage book legalisation services will continue to operate despite the implementation of a work-from-home (WFH) policy every Friday, aimed at ensuring continued access to religious services for the public. “Services to the community must continue to run. The KUA and Bimas Islam services are the frontline that directly interacts with society,” stated Director of KUA Development and Sakinah Family Ahmad Zayadi in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). Zayadi explained that marriage book legalisation services are provided at the Public Service Counter of the Directorate of KUA Development and Sakinah Family, located at the Ministry of Religious Affairs building, Jalan M.H. Thamrin No. 6, Central Jakarta. The public can access these services on working days according to the established schedule. In detail, services are open from Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB. On Fridays from 08:00 to 11:00 WIB, service hours are adjusted to ensure optimal and well-managed operations. Zayadi emphasised that the flexible work policy does not diminish the quality of public services. He assured that all service units will continue to perform their duties professionally and responsibly. “WFH does not mean services stop. On the contrary, we ensure that services remain available, both through direct mechanisms and by strengthening adaptive work systems,” he said.
