Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Ministry of Religious Affairs has begun phased disbursement of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) for religious education teachers in schools, including graduates of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) programme in 2025.

“In accordance with the Religious Affairs Minister’s directive, the disbursement of TPG for religious education has become our focus. Improving the quality of human resources and teacher welfare are priorities for national development,” said the Director-General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Amien Suyitno, in Jakarta on Monday.

Suyitno explained that teachers are at the forefront of shaping character and the future of the nation’s generation. As such, the government continues to ensure teacher welfare is adequately met.

He noted that the Ministry of Religious Affairs continues to refine the professional allowance distribution system to be more accountable, transparent, and well-targeted.

“We ensure that teachers who have met the requirements will receive their entitlements properly,” said Suyitno.

The Director of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), M. Munir, stated that TPG is disbursed to all Islamic religious education teachers in schools who have obtained a teaching certificate and meet applicable administrative requirements, including teachers who participated in the 2025 PPG programme and received their teaching certificates.

“The TPG is disbursed to all certified Islamic religious education teachers, including 2025 PPG graduates. There are a total of 209,324 recipients, including 91,028 Islamic religious education teachers and supervisors who completed the 2025 PPG,” said Munir.

Munir expressed hope that the improved welfare would motivate teachers to enhance the quality of learning and strengthen their role in shaping students’ character.
