Ministry of Religious Affairs: Religious Harmony is Key to Peace in Papua

The Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) for Papua Province has stated that religious harmony is one of the keys to maintaining peace and a harmonious way of life for the people of Papua.

Sarono, the Buddhist Community Guidance official for the Papua Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jayapura, said on Friday that efforts to maintain peace must be built by prioritising humanitarian interests and strengthening relationships between various elements of society.

“No matter how good a programme is, it must be based on humanitarian interests. Therefore, increasing religious harmony is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Religious Affairs,” he said.
