Ministry of Religious Affairs in Nagan Raya, Aceh prepares eight pilgrim-friendly mosques
Nagan Raya — The Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) in Nagan Raya District, Aceh Province, has made available eight mosques along the southern west coastal national highway to facilitate travellers during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijrah holiday period.
“The pilgrim-friendly mosques or traveller facilities can provide comfort to travellers passing through the national highway, allowing them to stop for prayer and rest briefly,” said Salman Alfarisi, Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office in Nagan Raya District, Aceh, on Monday.
The eight mosques include Baiturrahim Mosque in Suak Puntong Village, Kuala Pesisir District; Nurul Huda Mosque in Padang Rubek Village, Kuala Pesisir District; and Baiturrahim Mosque in Simpang Peut Village, Kuala District. Additionally, there is Baitul Kiram Mosque in Ujong Patihah Village, Kuala District; Rahman Syaikhuna Mosque in Blang Seumot Village, Beutong District; and Nurussalam Mosque in Alue Bata Village, Tadu Raya District. The list also includes Nurul Iman Mosque in Alue Bilie Village, Darul Makmur District, and Nurul Mukmin Mosque in Gunong Cut Village, Darul Makmur District, all in Nagan Raya District, Aceh.
Alfarisi stated that Kemenag Nagan Raya has mobilised all Islamic religious instructors to coordinate with local mosque management to ensure travellers receive quality service when performing worship. The office has also appealed to travellers not to overexert themselves and to stop for rest if tired during their journey.
“Upon entering Nagan Raya District, please stop and rest, as pushing on when tired may lead to unwanted incidents. We have prepared eight pilgrim-friendly mosques for this purpose,” he explained.
Taufiq, Head of the Islamic Community Guidance Section at the Kemenag office in Nagan Raya District, Aceh, stated that this initiative represents a service effort for the community, particularly for travellers from various regions using the national highway in Nagan Raya District.
“We strongly hope that travellers stopping at these facilities will maintain and keep the mosques clean, as cleanliness creates an atmosphere of peace and comfort,” he said.
