Ministry of Religious Affairs Fully Supports Komdigi Regulation Implementing PP Tunas
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs fully supports Ministerial Regulation of Communication and Digital Affairs (Permen Komdigi) No. 9 of 2026, which specifically regulates electronic system operators (PSE). “This derivative regulation of PP Tunas is the state’s regulatory ijtihad to protect the growth and development of the young generation. We want to ensure that religious foundations and ethics are firmly embedded in family and educational environments before they step into the digital world,” said Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday. The Minister of Religious Affairs stated that the digital space is a boundless wilderness that demands mental and spiritual readiness. In the statement, Nasaruddin urged all madrasahs and religious educational institutions to oversee Permen Komdigi No. 9 of 2026 and to use this momentum to optimise literacy and character development among students more deeply. “To teachers, kyai, and parents, let us accompany our children with love; prepare them to become a generation that is not only intelligent but also knowledgeable, moral, and responsible,” added Nasaruddin. Permen No. 9 of 2026 is the implementing regulation of Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic System Operators in Child Protection. High-risk services in the regulation are explained as those involving aspects where children are at risk of contacting unknown individuals and being exposed to pornography, violence, and content unsuitable for children.
