Ministry of Religious Affairs designates nine Madrasahs as national exemplars
MAN 2 Makassar has become a reference point for the digitalisation of madrasah education in Eastern Indonesia. Makassar — the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has designated nine Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) as the best, with MAN 2 Kota Makassar in South Sulawesi among those named national exemplars for its achievements. The head of MAN 2 Kota Makassar, Darmawati, said in a statement received in Makassar on Saturday that the achievement was the result of collaboration among the entire madrasah community in building a modern educational ecosystem that is adaptive to the pace of change. “Alhamdulillah, MAN 2 Makassar has become a national exemplar madrasah by the Ministry of Religious Affairs RI. There are nine Madrasah Aliyah that are the best, and MAN 2 Makassar is one of them,” she said. Darmawati added that MAN 2 Kota Makassar continues to commit to delivering digitally-based educational services that are innovative, including the Learning Management System (LMS Appakabaji) and the integrated digital service application (Sipadu), while also strengthening students’ character and the culture of research. “This recognition from Kemenag RI will motivate us to keep improving and achieving,” she said. In addition to its status as a nationally outstanding academic madrasah, MAN 2 Kota Makassar is also actively developing digitalisation programmes for educational services through various integrated platforms. Darmawati stated that MAN 2 Makassar has even become a reference for the development of madrasah digitalisation in Eastern Indonesia. With this achievement, MAN 2 Kota Makassar reinforces its position as a modern madrasah that balances academic excellence, character-building, and digital transformation in shaping a generation of high achievers for Indonesia’s Golden Age 2045. Earlier, the Minister of Religious Affairs KH Nasaruddin Umar and the Director-General of Islamic Education at Kemenag, Amien Suyitno, presented the award to Darmawati at Serpong on Friday, 22 May. The award presentation was packaged alongside the Madrasah Mendunia moment and the presentation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme certificate to MAN Insan Cendekia Serpong.
