Ministry of Religious Affairs Denies Claims That Madrasah Teacher Allowances Will Not Be Paid: Currently Being Submitted to the Ministry of Finance
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Amien Suyitno, stated that the 2026 Madrasah Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) is still in the process of being submitted to the Ministry of Finance.
“It’s not that it won’t be paid, it just hasn’t been paid yet. We are currently submitting the request for the payment of the professional allowance to the Ministry of Finance,” said Suyitno when met at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office, Central Jakarta, Thursday (26/2/2025).
He assured that the issue of the Madrasah TPG only requires time for the budget allocation process.
“It has now been reviewed by the Inspector General (of the Ministry of Finance), and has been approved by Commission VIII. This means that it is just a matter of time, a process,” he said.
“There are no obstacles, everything is in accordance with the procedural stages. Because the procedure is like this, all submissions are reviewed first, so it is in accordance with the procedure,” he added.
He explained that there is something called the Additional Budget Allocation (ABT) which requires a review at the Ministry of Finance.
According to the rules, the budget for teacher professional allowances cannot be submitted if the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program is still ongoing.
“It only concerns the procedure, so at that time the PPG learning process was still ongoing, according to the rules, the budget cannot be allocated during the learning period, waiting for graduation, which has now been announced,” he said.
“In that process, it was then reviewed by the Inspector General and is now in progress. So that’s how it is, the PPG is at the end of the year (2025), so it’s not possible for us to submit the budget at the end of the year,” he said.
