The Ministry of Religious Affairs has expressed strong appreciation for a new programme at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Pidie in Aceh, which has established a special class to prepare students for entrance to official state colleges. Staf Ahli Menteri Agama for Law and Human Rights, Faisal Ali Hasyim, conveyed his praise, stating the innovation aligns with directives to enhance the focus of the education system. He noted that during visits to regional offices, he consistently urges madrasah heads to create breakthroughs in teaching methods to advance education in Indonesia. Faisal emphasised that a madrasah’s success should not be measured solely by student grades, but also by the level of interest from junior high school graduates wanting to enrol and the number of alumni accepted into top universities. He stressed the need for continuous evaluation and improvement of madrasah management so that institutions can adapt to the times and keep pace with technological developments. The high demand for the new programme is evident from the surge in junior high school graduates registering for the civil service preparation class at MAN 1 Pidie. This enthusiasm is driven by the wide range of state service academies available, including STMKG, STPDN, STIN, STIS, PKN STAN, STPN, and Poltekkes, and the previous lack of a specific secondary-level curriculum designed to prepare students for their rigorous selection processes.
