The Ministry of Public Works and Housing, through the Regional Road Implementation Unit 2.1 of the National Road Execution Agency for West Java Province, targets completion of national road repairs throughout Cianjur by 10 days before Eid.

Agus Warso, Field Supervision Coordinator for the West Java unit, stated on Friday in Cianjur that the national road repairs in Cianjur are in response to a ministerial directive requiring all national roads to be in “Zero Hole” condition—meaning free of potholes—by no later than seven days before Eid.

“The Minister’s directive seven days before the holiday exodus requires all national road routes to achieve Zero Hole status, meaning no more potholes along our operational areas, ensuring safety and comfort for holiday travellers,” he said.

He explained that one particularly demanding repair project is the 7.45-kilometre Southern Ring Road, which has suffered severe deterioration but is targeted for completion within the near term.

“The repairs ensure that the main connecting route between Bandung and Sukabumi is in a safe and pothole-free condition during peak holiday travel in 2026, and this measure is part of the accelerated national road improvement programme,” he noted.

The operational area of the West Java unit encompasses the Cianjur-Sukabumi border, the Cianjur-West Bandung border, and the Cianjur-Bandung border, specifically covering the southern regions of Cianjur and southern Bandung.

Road repairs ahead of the Eid season cover all national roads spanning Cianjur District from north to south. Road deterioration has been primarily caused by natural factors, particularly during extreme weather conditions.
