Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti stated that the Ministry of Public Works is committed to ensuring that Phase II People’s Schools are ready to support the new student intake process.

“In principle, we are committed to making Phase II People’s Schools ready to support the new student intake process in line with the operational plan that has been prepared. Therefore, all current efforts are focused on ensuring optimal implementation and timely benefits for the community,” Diana told ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday.

According to her, the construction of Phase II People’s Schools is progressing in line with the set targets. The Ministry of Public Works, together with all relevant parties, is accelerating work at various locations to achieve facility readiness as planned.

“Every on-site progress is monitored 24 hours a day, covering building construction, provision of basic utilities, and completion of other supporting facilities. Acceleration measures are also continuously implemented while maintaining work quality, construction safety, and building functionality,” she said.

Such acceleration efforts include adding workforce, strengthening field supervision, cross-unit support within the Ministry of Public Works, and utilising construction technology to optimally pursue the June completion target.

“In addition, monitoring of construction progress is conducted intensively, especially at work points that are still below target, so that on-site obstacles can be quickly identified and addressed through measured corrective actions,” Diana said.

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo is striving to complete construction at 97 points for Phase II People’s Schools by June 2026 through accelerated work at various locations.

Dody said the acceleration is being carried out so that these educational facilities can be used in the upcoming new academic year in line with the government’s targets.

He explained that on-site construction progress varies, thus requiring daily consolidations, strengthened supervision, and cross-unit support within the Ministry of Public Works.
