Nagekeo, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the verification process for partners and participants within the National Internship programme (MagangHub).

Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpons, Cris Kuntadi, stated in a briefing received in Nagekeo, East Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday, that the technology assists in reviewing information regarding organising partners and participants, including the fairness of quotas and unusual registration patterns.

He added that regarding the verification of organising partners, AI helps the Ministry identify links between groups of companies and assess whether the proposed quotas are reasonable based on the company’s capacity.

“We are utilising AI to help determine if there are groups of companies under the control of a single operator, to assess the bonafides of a company, and to see if the proposed quota is still reasonable compared to the company’s capacity,” said Cris.

In the participant selection process, AI also analyses applicant data and vacancies to identify patterns that require further investigation. This includes the distribution of participants, their regions of origin, and the alignment of study programmes with available vacancies.

“In participant selection, AI also helps us identify unusual patterns, such as participants in a certain company being concentrated from alumni of a specific university, a majority originating from outside the company’s region, or study programmes that do not match the available vacancies,” Cris said.

He added that the use of this technology is vital because the National Internship programme involves a large number of organising partners, vacancies, and participants.

Furthermore, AI-based analysis is expected to help identify patterns within these large datasets, which can then be scrutinised during the inspection process.

Cris emphasised that the use of AI is not intended to replace the verification and inspection process.

“The results of the AI analysis serve as one of the materials for the inspection process in accordance with the applicable mechanisms,” he concluded.
