Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has revealed that the finance, wholesale trade, and manufacturing sectors are the three sectors recruiting the most participants for the 2025 National Internship Programme (MagangHub).

In detail, the finance sector recorded the absorption of 2,559 interns, followed by wholesale trade with 1,759 participants, and the manufacturing sector with 1,501 participants.

“This indicates current demand and illustrates that these sectors have the highest recruitment rates for interns,” stated the Minister of Manpower, Yassermli, during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

These findings are the result of a preliminary evaluation of the 2025 National Internship Programme, based on a survey conducted among a total of 65,245 interns and 7,217 participating companies across batches 1 and 2.

The survey results also provided insights into job offers made by companies following the programme’s conclusion. Approximately 30 per cent of participants reported receiving job offers, consisting of 17.11 per cent who accepted the offers and 12.58 per cent who declined because they had been accepted elsewhere.

Meanwhile, 33.05 per cent of participants indicated that they had not yet been offered a job but saw indications of potential offers, while 37.26 per cent stated they were not offered a position by the end of the internship.

Overall, the survey results show a high level of satisfaction among interns, with 84 per cent reporting they were satisfied or very satisfied, approximately 15 per cent were moderately satisfied, and only 0.71 per cent were dissatisfied.

Furthermore, 67 per cent of participants stated that the programme helped their economic condition and/or that of their families, with an additional 30.45 per cent stating it was moderately helpful, while 2.42 per cent felt it had no significant impact.

From the perspective of companies and mentors, 84 per cent expressed satisfaction or high satisfaction regarding the contribution of the interns, 15.42 per cent were moderately satisfied, and 0.45 per cent were dissatisfied.

Additionally, 66 per cent of mentors assessed that participants experienced significant improvements in technical competence during their internship period.

For information, the 2025 National Internship Programme was joined by 102,600 participants from a total of 370,500 applicants, with 8,048 companies and institutions across Indonesia serving as internship placements.

The programme runs for six months across three batches: the first batch from October 2025 to April 2026, the second batch from November 2025 to May 2026, and the third batch from December 2025 to June 2026.

Participants receive an allowance equivalent to the minimum wage, social security benefits including Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefits (JKM), mentorship from companies, and competency certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

Furthermore, the government has officially opened the second cohort of the 2026 National Internship Programme, with the detailed implementation schedule to be announced soon and targeted to commence this coming July.
