Padang (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is preparing artificial intelligence (AI)-based training for 3,100 youth in the city of Padang, West Sumatra (Sumbar). “This AI-based training is to support the acceleration of economic recovery through enhancing the competencies of the community in West Sumatra,” said Minister of Manpower Yassierli during his working visit to Padang on Friday. Yassierli stated that participants will gain access to digital training through an AI-based learning platform. The platform, he continued, provides various competency development materials, ranging from personal development, entrepreneurship, to non-technical skills and other skills. The Minangkabau-descended minister wants young people to have skills, expertise, and competencies to compete at the national and even international levels. “I want our young people to have skills, have expertise, have competencies to compete,” said Yassierli. The initial quota of 3,100 participants is the first phase of recipients of AI-based digital training access prepared by Kemnaker. This programme is expected to open wider opportunities for the younger generation to improve their competencies and competitiveness in the workforce. In addition to emergency services, Kemnaker is also distributing various recovery programmes to the West Sumatra Provincial Government worth Rp30.3 billion. The assistance is implemented in several manpower programmes, such as the public works programme and the independent workforce programme.
