Ministry of Manpower offers free competency certification for MagangHub alumni
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has confirmed the provision of free competency certification for graduates of the National Internship Programme, also known as MagangHub. “The government is facilitating certification for MagangHub participants who have completed their internship to enhance workforce competitiveness,” said Labour Minister Yassierli in a statement on Sunday. He further stressed that competency certification is a crucial component for National Internship Programme graduates, in addition to the internship completion certificate earned after approximately six months of training. The certification, Yassierli added, serves as official recognition of participants’ skills, thereby boosting their employability in the job market. The competency certification issued by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) is provided free of charge by the Ministry of Manpower through vocational training centres across the country. The labour minister explained that National Internship Programme graduates seeking BNSP certification must register online and select one of 15 available certification schemes based on their field of study and work experience during the internship. After registration, participants will undergo in-person competency assessments at 21 Professional Certification Bodies (LSP) within Kemnaker’s Central Technical Implementation Units (UPTP) network. “After registering online, the competency assessment is conducted offline or in person at 21 Professional Certification Bodies through Kemnaker’s UPTP network across the country,” Yassierli said. The 21 UPTP comprise six Large Vocational Training and Productivity Centres (BBPVP) in Bandung, Bekasi, Makassar, Medan, Semarang, and Serang, as well as 15 Vocational Training and Productivity Centres (BPVP) located in Ambon, Banda Aceh, West Bandung, Bantaeng, Banyuwangi, Belitung, Kendari, East Lombok, Padang, Pangkep, Samarinda, Sidoarjo, Sorong, Surakarta, and Ternate. Yassierli emphasised that the entire certification process for National Internship Programme graduates is free and conducted directly at Kemnaker’s vocational training centres. “This certification serves as valid proof of acquired skills, facilitating industry absorption for participants,” he said. Meanwhile, the government is expanding the 2026 National Internship Programme to reach up to 150,000 participants.
