Ministry of Manpower commits to strengthening collaboration for women's job access
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has committed to strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance women’s job access and skills development. “Collaboration with multiple parties is crucial for labour programmes to run more effectively,” said Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor in a statement on Tuesday in Jakarta. He further stressed the importance of involving various stakeholders to ensure government programmes operate more effectively and reach a broader segment of society. One recent partnership established by Kemnaker is with the Congress of Indonesian Women (Kowani) to expand women’s empowerment through skills enhancement and job access. Deputy Minister Afriansyah stated that partnerships with civil society organisations are vital for strengthening labour policy implementation and improving the effectiveness and reach of government programmes in enhancing human resource quality. He added that strengthened collaboration with Kowani is expected to deliver broader societal benefits. Meanwhile, Kowani Chairperson Nannie Hadi Tjahjono said the partnership with Kemnaker is expected to provide tangible benefits for women, particularly through training and skill development. She emphasised that skills are key to improving living standards and creating opportunities for self-employment. “I want this partnership to deliver real solutions for women,” she added.
