Ministry of Law awards IG certificate for Batu Pulaki, Buleleng
Buleleng, Bali (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) has handed over the Batu Pulaki Banyupoh Buleleng, Bali Geographical Indication (GI) certificate, along with three copyright certificates for public service innovations, to the Buleleng Regency Government on the closing night of the Lovina Festival 2026.
“The handover was truly remarkable at the peak of the Lovina Festival, witnessed by around 30,000 residents in the Lovina Beach area,” said Fajar Sulaeman Taman, Director of Trademarks and Geographical Indications at DJKI, Kemenkum, in a statement in Singaraja on Wednesday.
He said the Batu Pulaki GI certificate represents the state’s protection of Buleleng’s distinctive natural wealth, whilst at the same time strengthening the economic value of products based on local potential.
“The Batu Pulaki GI certificate ensures that Banyupoh’s natural wealth is protected from claims by outside parties, whilst also raising its economic value. On the other hand, copyright protection for public service innovations proves that Buleleng is a region rich in ideas and creativity worthy of protection by the state,” he said.
In addition, the ministry presented three copyright certificates for public service innovations developed in Buleleng Regency.
The Regent of Buleleng then symbolically handed the certificates to the innovators, namely I Putu Adipta Eka Putra for the TPS 3R Plus creation, Gede Suharjono for the Scheduled Sludge Service System (SININJA) innovation, and Putu Gofi Suparnaja for the Camat Buleleng Menyapa innovation.
Buleleng Regent I Nyoman Sutjidra expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Law’s presence at the climax of the Lovina Festival 2026, which he regarded as a form of central government support for regional economic development based on intellectual property.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Ministry of Law’s Bali Regional Office (Kanwil), Eem Nurmanah, affirmed that her office would continue to expand assistance to regional governments and communities in registering various forms of intellectual property potential.
“Kemenkum’s Bali Regional Office continues to proactively reach out to support regional governments and communities in registering their intellectual property potential. The successful registration of the Batu Pulaki GI and these various public service innovations is the fruit of intensive collaboration,” said Eem.
