The Ministry of Labour (Kemnaker) views the tradition of collective mudik facilitated by companies as more than a routine activity ahead of Eidulfitri.

For Kemnaker, this initiative represents a concrete method of maintaining worker morale whilst supporting company productivity after the holiday period concludes.

The Director-General of Industrial Relations and Worker Social Security at Kemnaker, Indah Anggoro Putri, commended companies such as PT Kayaba Indonesia for consistently facilitating mudik for their workers and families.

“This represents good practice in harmonious industrial relations and ought to be emulated by other companies,” said the Director-General whilst seeing off participants from PT Kayaba Indonesia’s (KYBI) Collective Mudik programme in Cikarang, Bekasi, on Friday, 13 March.

According to the Director-General, workers constitute a fundamental element in business continuity. Consequently, when companies provide support enabling workers to return home safely and with peace of mind, the benefits extend beyond workers and their families to the company itself, as workers return with renewed motivation.

She emphasised that collective mudik should not be viewed as a burden. Rather, programmes of this nature should be regarded as a form of investment in workers.

The Director-General stressed that mudik is not merely a routine activity but represents a genuine corporate investment in maintaining worker spirits and ensuring productivity continues after the holiday period ends.
