Ministry of Industry's Strategy to Accelerate National Industrial Transformation
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Industry is strengthening strategies to accelerate the transformation of the national industry. This step is directed towards industries that are competitive, sustainable, and based on added value. One of the efforts is carried out through the implementation of the New National Industrialisation Strategy or SBIN. This policy aligns with the vision of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita. The focus is directed at strengthening downstream processing and resource-based industrialisation to increase domestic added value. The quality and competitiveness of products must also be improved. “The government continues to encourage the strengthening of the national industrial structure through various strategic policies, including the enhancement of standardisation and certification of industrial products. This step is important so that domestic industrial products become increasingly competitive, both in the domestic and global markets,” said Agus in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/4/2026). The direction of this policy is supported by the Agency for Standardisation and Industrial Services Policy or BSKJI. Head of BSKJI Emmy Suryandari stated that all Technical Implementing Units have a strategic role in the implementation of SBIN. “All UPTs are continuously encouraged to increase innovation, service quality, and optimisation of industrial services. These efforts aim for the contribution to the strengthening of the national industry to become more tangible and provide broad impacts on increasing production capacity and the sustainability of the domestic industry,” explained Emmy. One of the active units is the Semarang Major Centre for Standardisation and Industrial Pollution Prevention Services. The services provided include testing, calibration, and product certification. Other services include ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management system certification. In addition, there is green industry certification, verification of Domestic Component Levels, and technical industrial consultation.
