Ministry of Industry Opens Simultaneous Registration for Vocational Schools Under Its Auspices This Year
The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has officially opened registration for new students at its vocational schools for 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen national industrial vocational education.
The new student intake is through the Joint Industrial Vocational Admission Pathway (JARVIS) from 6 April to 5 June 2026 for polytechnics and community academies, while for vocational high schools (SMK) it runs from 6 April to 15 May 2026 via the official website.
In a statement in Jakarta on Monday, Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasised that President Prabowo Subianto places great importance on strengthening vocational education as the foundation for developing industrial human resources.
“The President stresses that vocational education must be a national priority so that graduates have competencies that match the needs of the workforce, both domestically and in the global market,” said the Minister.
He stated that the majority of graduates from these educational units have been absorbed into industry, while the rest obtain employment at the latest six months after graduation.
The Head of the Agency for the Development of Industrial Human Resources (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry, Doddy Rahadi, explained that Kemenperin vocational graduates are equipped with technical skills and adaptability to industrial technological developments.
“The absorption rate of graduates into industry in 2025 reaches 68% immediately after graduation, and is projected to reach 100% within six months after graduation,” Doddy revealed.
Doddy also mentioned that there are three admission pathways to enter Kemenperin-affiliated vocational schools: JARVIS Bersama, JARVIS Mandiri, and JARVIS Prestasi.
JARVIS Mandiri and JARVIS Prestasi are conducted by each educational unit with schedules according to internal campus or school regulations.
He emphasised that the entire JARVIS Kemenperin registration process incurs no fees. Tuition fees during the study period are adjusted to the policies of each educational unit.
