Ministry of Industry Facilitates SMEs to Become Hajj Equipment Suppliers This Year
The government continues to strive for domestic needs, including for the organisation of Hajj and Umrah worship, to be met by national industrial products.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is facilitating its nurtured small and medium industries (IKM) to become suppliers of Hajj equipment for 2026, as an effort to strengthen the role of the national industry while optimising the vast domestic market.
This effort is reflected in the success of 12 Kemenperin-nurtured IKMs that supply the needs of Hajj pilgrims for the 1447 Hijriah year, from clothing products to ihram cloth.
Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday, conveyed that the involvement of IKMs in providing Hajj equipment is part of the government’s strategy to strengthen the domestic industry while optimising domestic market potential.
“The government continues to strive for domestic needs, including for the organisation of Hajj and Umrah worship, to be met by national industrial products. This becomes an important momentum to increase the competitiveness of IKMs while expanding their market access,” said the Minister.
With Indonesia’s large Muslim population and continuously increasing Hajj quotas, this opportunity is deemed capable of providing significant added value to the domestic industry.
Director General of Small, Medium, and Various Industries (IKMA) of Kemenperin, Reni Yanita, revealed that this achievement is a follow-up to business matching activities in the food industry and consumer goods sector with HIPPINDO, as well as the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem held in December 2025.
From that activity, four nurtured IKMs succeeded in penetrating the market as suppliers, namely CV Akasia Batik, PT Kresna Andalan Beka, CV Rajasa Mas Jaya, and CV Gilang Githa Gemilang.
In addition, eight batik IKMs nurtured from West Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta also succeeded in partnering through facilitation of Batikmark certification, which is an important requirement to ensure the authenticity of batik products for Hajj uniforms.
“The products of our nurtured IKMs, from batik, mukena, to ihram cloth, have become part of the official equipment for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims,” she said.
