Ministry of Industry Develops Integrated Platform for Digitalisation and AI
Digitalisation and the implementation of Industry 4.0 are key to realising a smart, sustainable, and resilient manufacturing sector.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is accelerating the transformation of the national manufacturing sector by building an integrated platform based on digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI).
Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, emphasised that this is being done as a full commitment from his side to strengthen the domestic industry so that it can not only adapt to technological changes but also become a main player in the increasingly smart and connected global supply chain.
“Digitalisation and the implementation of Industry 4.0 are key to realising a smart, sustainable, and resilient manufacturing sector to face the global world and can increase productivity, accelerate innovation, as well as strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the global market,” said the Minister.
According to him, the development is being carried out through collaboration with various strategic partners, such as that done by the Agency for Human Resource Development for Industry (BPSDMI) of Kemenperin with Irootech Technology Co. Ltd. and the Machinery Industry Education Development Center (MIEDC) China, which are forming an alliance to build an international collaboration platform in the field of industrial digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI).
Head of BPSDMI Kemenperin Doddy Rahadi stated that the rapid development of the Industry 4.0 revolution in the world today has changed the way industries operate while demanding readiness of human resources (HR) that are adaptive, innovative, and have high technological competence.
“This is what drives Kemenperin to continue to carry out strategic cross-country collaborations, especially in HR development and placement of workers in the Industry 4.0 field,” he said.
During a working visit to China some time ago, the BPSDMI team visited vocational education units, as well as companies and Chinese industry associations including Irootech Technology Co. Ltd., Sany Group, Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering, Guangzhou Polytechnic, and MIEDC.
The BPSDMI team also attended the Higher Education Institutions Industrial Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence Innovation Conference and Industry-Education Integration Development Summit.
At the conference and summit, the International Cooperation Alliance for the Development of Industrial Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence Talent was officially launched as a forum for collaboration between the industry, education, and government sectors of Indonesia and China.
Head of the Centre for Industrial Vocational Education Development (PPPVI) of Kemenperin Wulan Aprilianti Permatasari explained that the main objective of forming this alliance is to build an international collaboration platform in the field of industrial digitalisation and intelligence, deepen integration between the industry and education worlds, and enhance global exchanges and cooperation.
Furthermore, together to produce high-quality technical and professional talents to meet the needs of future industrial development.
Through this alliance, continued Wulan, the industry sector, educational institutions, and governments from Indonesia and China will actively collaborate in building and developing superior talents ready to face global industrial challenges.
Vice President of Irootech Technology Co. Ltd. Ye Fei stated that the collaborative platform being built aims to develop skilled talents in industrial digitalisation and strengthen bilateral cooperation in vocational education, as well as promote mutual development.
This cooperation is an implementation of the MoU between PPPVI Kemenperin and Irootech Technology Co. Ltd. which was signed on 16 September 2025 regarding the development, training, and placement of workers in the field of industrial digitalisation and artificial intelligence.
