Ministry of Industry Accelerates Industrial Technology Transformation through Rintek 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is strengthening national industrial technology transformation through the development and utilisation of industrial technologies via the organisation of the Rintisan Teknologi Industri (Rintek) Awards 2026. This step is deemed essential to bolster manufacturing competitiveness while accelerating national industrial self-reliance amid the era of digital transformation and Industry 4.0. In his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasised that strengthening the industrial technology ecosystem forms the primary foundation for building a resilient and competitive manufacturing sector in the global market. Therefore, through the National Agency for Standardisation and Industrial Services Policy (BSKJI), Kemenperin is once again opening registrations for the 2026 Rintek Awards as a form of appreciation for industry players who have successfully created independent technological breakthroughs. “I am delighted to see the national technology ecosystem maturing. The increasing number of technology breakthrough proposals each year not only demonstrates the growing spirit of creativity among industry players but also serves as evidence that our industry is ready to compete globally. Through Rintek 2026, we aim to ensure that applied technologies pioneered by industry become the main driving force for national industrial self-reliance,” stated the Minister. The Rintek Awards is an annual event organised by Kemenperin to encourage technological innovation growth in the manufacturing sector. Since its first edition in 2006, the programme has awarded more than 89 industrial companies with a total of over 136 successfully developed applied technologies. Head of BSKJI at Kemenperin, Emmy Suryandari, stated that the organisation of Rintek 2026 is directed towards strengthening the national industry’s capability to produce local technologies in order to reduce dependence on imported capital goods. “The Rintek Awards serves as a form of government appreciation to national industry players who have successfully created technological breakthroughs to support business process development and enhance domestic industrial self-reliance. We hope this year’s registrations can capture more applied technologies capable of providing real solutions to current manufacturing industry challenges,” said Emmy. Registrations for the 2026 Rintek Awards are open to all industrial companies domiciled in Indonesia that have produced domestic technological breakthroughs. The evaluation process is conducted objectively by a competent judging panel through stages from administrative selection to final substantive selection. She added that the categories for the 2026 Rintek Awards include Pioneering Innovation, Manufacturing Industrial Product Technology, Manufacturing Industrial Process Technology, Industrial Services Technology, and Results of Technology Pioneering Evaluation. Registrations are open from 29 April to 29 May 2026, with the evaluation process scheduled for August 2026 and the award ceremony to take place in December 2026.
