Ministry of Immigration and Corrections Promotes Spirit of Care Through Independence Day Blood Donation

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections is promoting a spirit of care through a blood donation drive to mark the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence.

Director of Health Care and Rehabilitation at the Directorate General of Corrections, Adhayani Lubis, stated in Jakarta on Sunday that the ministry’s Independence Day blood donation activity targets the collection of 1,000 blood bags.

“This blood donation activity is a tangible manifestation of the spirit of mutual cooperation and social care championed by the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections through 15 action programmes,” said Adhayani.

She explained that the blood donation drive was held alongside a fun walk, distribution of social assistance, passport services, and a clean-up of the Heroes’ Cemetery in Tangerang City, Banten.

According to her, the participants in the blood donation not only took part in the series of Independence Day commemorations but also contributed to helping people in need of blood transfusions.

“Our hope with this blood donation is, firstly, to become healthy, then to feel more refreshed, and of course to be beneficial for the many people who need blood donations,” she said.

In this activity, the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Dharmais Cancer Hospital, and Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital (RSCM) to target 1,000 blood bags.

She said this synergy is part of the ministry’s efforts to support blood stock availability while expanding the benefits of social activities for those in need.

“This blood donation is a collaboration with the Dharmais Hospital Blood Transfusion Unit, RSCM, and PMI. The donors are the extended family of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, employees, the public, and cadets. We hope to target 1,000 blood bags,” she explained.

Adhayani added that through the momentum of independence, the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections continues to encourage a spirit of care and mutual cooperation as part of its service to the community.

“By collaborating with various parties, the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections is committed to continuing to present activities that provide real benefits to the community,” she said.
