Tangerang (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) has assured that all immigration services during the Hajj pilgrimage for 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE at every airport will run smoothly and securely. Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto, speaking in Tangerang on Wednesday, stated that his ministry has maximised all Hajj-related services, particularly immigration needs from Indonesia’s 13 Hajj embarkation points. “The Saudi Immigration team has come to Indonesia for inspections from the start, so when the prospective Hajj pilgrims from those four embarkation points arrive, they can enter directly without undergoing checks again there (in Saudi Arabia),” said Agus. In this regard, Kemenimipas plays a role in supporting the entire immigration fulfilment process by partnering with the Saudi Embassy through the provision of the Mecca Route. According to Agus, this step is intended to streamline inspection services for prospective Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia while performing their worship in the holy land of Mecca. “This is the facilitation we provide, and Alhamdulillah, nearly 60 percent of pilgrims have utilised the Mecca Route facility,” he added. “For prospective Hajj pilgrims departing, especially from the four embarkation points—Juanda, Soekarno-Hatta, Adi Soemarmo Solo, and Hasanuddin Makassar—we have an Immigration team ready to serve the Hajj pilgrimage,” he said. Furthermore, Kemenimipas will ensure smooth operations during the return process for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims by providing a seamless process immigration facility, or service without re-undergoing immigration checks. “They will only pass through the gate corridor via facial recognition. They won’t need to use tap-tap or anything else. This is at Soekarno-Hatta and Juanda,” he explained. Nevertheless, through this simpler service process, it is hoped that it can increase convenience for the Hajj pilgrims. “Hopefully, this can also see 35 to 40 percent using it later,” he said. Previously, 391 prospective Hajj pilgrims from the first batch of the Banten Embarkation were officially departed from Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang. These hundreds of prospective Hajj pilgrims were flown to Madinah, marked by the handover of the Red and White flag by Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad to the Hajj and Umrah Organising Officers (PPIH) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
