Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Facilities Continues Selection for Head of Human Resources Development Agency Following Appointment of Director General of Immigration
Jakarta – The Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Facilities (Kemenimipas) is continuing the implementation of open selection for senior executive positions for the role of Head of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM).
M. Akbar Hadiprabowo, Head of the Centre for Data, Information and Public Communication at Kemenimipas, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that the open selection for the position of Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration has been formally closed today, following the issuance of a Presidential Decree (Keppres) that appointed the Director General of Immigration.
“The appointment of the Director General of Immigration has been issued through a Presidential Decree,” said Akbar.
He explained that with the issuance of the Keppres, the results of the first stage of selection will not be continued. The appointment represents the government’s authority in ensuring continuity of leadership and the implementation of duties and functions of the agency.
“Therefore, the open selection for the position of Director General of Immigration will not be continued. Meanwhile, the selection process for the position of Head of BPSDM will proceed as planned,” he said.
With the appointment of the Director General of Immigration through the Keppres, the need to fill that position has been declared fulfilled through the mechanism of appointing senior executive officials, in accordance with applicable regulations.
In the meantime, the implementation of open selection for Senior Executive Positions (JPT) for the role of Head of BPSDM at Kemenimipas will continue as previously announced.
It was previously reported on Tuesday (3 March) that Kemenimipas opened open selection for the second round position of Director General of Immigration and Head of BPSDM, beginning with the registration phase on 9–27 March, followed by administrative selection on 30 March–2 April.
The selection for these positions is open to civil servants (ASN), military personnel (TNI), police officers (Polri), and non-civil servants.
The open selection is conducted based on a letter from the State Secretary Minister numbered R-230/M/SDK/PA.01.03/07/2025 dated 3 July 2025 on the filling of Senior Executive Positions within Kemenimipas.
The implementation of this selection was undertaken to recruit more candidates following the first round of selection conducted last year.
After the registration and administrative selection phases are completed, the next stages will be managerial and sociocultural competency testing, technical competency testing, final interviews, and medical examinations, with timings to be determined later.
