Ministry of Human Rights to Oversee 2026 MPLS to Prevent Bullying in Schools
The Ministry of Human Rights (KemenHAM) will oversee the 2026 School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) to prevent bullying and violence against new students in schools. Rudy Susatyo, a representative from the ministry’s Directorate of Human Rights Compliance, stated in Pangkalpinang on Monday that the ministry will synergise with local governments to prevent bullying and violence during this year’s MPLS. He expressed hope that local governments, through education, social, and health agencies, would supervise activities to ensure the educational environment remains free from human rights violations. The Ministry of Human Rights has been mandated by legislation to lead and coordinate efforts to address human rights issues. In monitoring human rights violations in the education sector, the ministry will also collaborate with the Legal Aid Post programme under the Ministry of Law to provide assistance to victims of human rights violations.
