Ministry of Housing and OJK Prepare to Form Task Force to Accelerate People's Housing Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) plan to form a joint task force to accelerate the people’s housing programme, particularly the construction of 3 million homes.
“We will invite various parties to formulate an effective, efficient, and productive task force structure, so that housing problems can be resolved quickly,” said PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
Meanwhile, OJK Commissioner Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi stated that OJK fully supports the government’s priority programme for building 3 million homes for Indonesian society.
“Also the formation of the Task Force for Accelerating the 3 Million Homes Programme together with the Ministry of PKP, OJK, Tapera, and developer associations,” said Friderica, who is familiarly known as Kiki.
She also appreciated the efforts of the PKP Minister, who is seen as consistent in advocating for housing financing access for low-income communities.
“We see that the PKP Minister is extraordinary in advocating for low-income communities to own homes,” she said.
Previously, PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait revealed special policies related to the Financial Information Service System (SLIK) that will be issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to support subsidised housing, which will drive extraordinary movement.
According to him, movement in the housing sector, especially subsidised homes for low-income communities (MBR), can drive national economic growth.
