Ministry of Home Affairs Office Building in South Jakarta's Pasar Minggu Area Catches Fire

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Building D in the complex of the Directorate General for Village Governance, Ministry of Home Affairs, Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, caught fire on Monday afternoon (20/4/2026). “The incident just happened,” said Kendar, Head of the South Jakarta BPBD Task Force, when confirmed by Kompas.com on Monday. Employees in brown and white uniforms were seen gathered in the courtyard. Two employees were observed receiving treatment from medical personnel. Dozens of fire engines lined up in front of the office, with police officers directing traffic. At least five fire trucks were on standby in the office courtyard. The cause of the incident is not yet known.
