Ministry of Home Affairs Appreciates High-Performing Regional Governments, Heads of Regions Across Sumatra to Attend

The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), together with detikcom, is presenting the Appreciation for High-Performing Regional Governments 2026. All heads of regions across Sumatra, from governors and regents to mayors, will attend the event. According to detikSumbagsel on Thursday (23/4/2026), this awards forum for regional governments with the best performance will be held at Wyndham Opi Hotel in Palembang, South Sumatra, on 25 April 2026 at 4:00 PM WIB. The event, organised by Kemendagri, will also be attended by various relevant stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). This activity forms part of the central government’s efforts to drive improvements in regional performance through the provision of fiscal incentives. The policy refers to Law No. 1 of 2022 on Financial Relations between the Central Government and Regional Governments, which allows for performance-based awards. Furthermore, the implementation of this programme is reinforced by regulations on regional financial management as stipulated in Government Regulation No. 12 of 2019. In this forum, provincial, regency, and city regional governments in Sumatra will receive appreciation in four main categories.
