Universities must serve as safe spaces providing protection for all campus members. Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is holding a short video competition themed “Safe Campus, Free from Violence” as part of the socialisation of the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education Environments (PPKPT) programme. The Director General of Higher Education (Dirjen Dikti) of Kemdiktisaintek, Khairul Munadi, stated that campuses must become safe, inclusive spaces free from all forms of violence. Higher education institutions play a crucial role not only as centres of knowledge but also as drivers of a healthy, dignified, and just academic culture. “Higher education must present itself as a safe space providing protection for all campus members. We encourage active participation from the campus community to voice the values of a safe campus free from violence. There is no tolerance for any form of violence in higher education environments,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday. The Dirjen Dikti said that this short video competition is expected to serve as a platform for creativity as well as a campaign tool to strengthen understanding of PPKPT. “Through this competition, he believes the spirit of National Education Day (Hardiknas) is not only celebrated ceremonially but also realised in concrete actions to create safe, healthy campuses free from violence,” he added. It is known that this competition is aimed at students, lecturers, educators, and all campus members in state and private universities, both domestic and international. Through short video works, participants are invited to present strong, relevant, and impactful messages that touch emotions and public awareness, while serving as a declaration for the academic community to reject all forms of violence in higher education environments. The competition schedule is as follows: 2 May 2026: Socialisation and announcement of the competition; 2–17 May 2026: Submission of works; 17–23 May 2026: Judging process; 26 May 2026: Announcement of winners. Complete information on the competition can be accessed via the official Instagram account of Ditjen Dikti, while the PPKPT Pocket Book is available through the linktr.ee/ppkpt2025 link.
