The Director General of Advanced Health at the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Azhar Jaya, has requested Adam Malik Hospital to open a booth and provide ambulances during Car Free Day (CFD) activities at Lapangan Merdeka, Medan, North Sumatra, to strengthen public services.

“I see great enthusiasm from residents for the CFD activities in Medan. We are asking Adam Malik Hospital to open a booth during these events,” stated Director General Azhar Jaya in Medan on Sunday.

He observed that many residents were already conducting preliminary health checks, such as blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, during the vehicle-free event.

“The purpose of the booth is to bring Adam Malik Hospital closer to the community and enable faster healthcare interventions,” he added.

He expressed his desire for Adam Malik Hospital to collaborate with the local government to further enhance healthcare services for the public.

Previously, Adam Malik Hospital organised a 5km fun walk and run, attended by approximately 1,400 participants of various ages, to promote a healthy lifestyle among the community.

President Director Zainal Safri stated that the 5km walk and run initiative serves as a step to encourage and support the public in adopting healthy habits.

According to him, morning jogging or walking is an accessible form of exercise that helps residents maintain health and fitness for their daily work activities.

“In addition to the 5km walk and run, we are also conducting health seminars, social services, and health screenings for the community,” he said.
