Ministry of Hajj Urges Pilgrims to Prioritise Safety During Mina Phase
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Ministry of Hajj and Umrah spokesperson Maria Assegaf has urged all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to prioritise safety and maintain health during the Mina phase and stoning ritual on the days of Tashriq.
She stated that pilgrims’ discipline in following officials’ instructions is crucial for ensuring smooth movement and safety during the procession to the Jamarat.
“Pilgrims’ discipline is key to maintaining smooth movement, safety, and comfort during the Mina phase,” Maria said in a statement on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
She noted that the stoning ritual on 11 Zulhijah is divided into two sessions.
On 12 Zulhijah, the ritual is scheduled from 5am to 10:30am Saudi time, followed by another session from 6pm to midnight.
For 13 Zulhijah, it is scheduled from 5am to noon Saudi time.
“We urge all pilgrims to strictly adhere to the scheduled stoning times for their respective groups,” she said.
Maria also reiterated a ban on the ritual between 10am and 2pm Saudi time to protect pilgrims from extreme heat and congestion.
“Specifically, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has reiterated that Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are prohibited from performing the stoning ritual between 10am and 2pm Saudi time,” she said.
She also urged pilgrims not to follow unscheduled departure requests or leave their groups.
“Do not follow unscheduled departure prompts, avoid separating from your group, and do not take unauthorised routes,” Maria said.
Additionally, all pilgrim movements must be conducted in groups under official supervision and in accordance with the instructions of group leaders, team captains, sector heads, and religious guides.
“All movements must be carried out in groups with official supervision and in line with the guidance of group leaders, team captains, sector heads, and religious mentors,” she said.
