Ministry of Hajj: One Ill Hajj Candidate from Jambi Still Has Chance to Depart

Two prospective Hajj pilgrims from Jambi, part of Flight Group (Kloter) 19, named Muhammad Ali (51) and Suradi Kartawiyono (74), have had their departure to the Holy Land delayed due to lung inflammation and kidney failure, based on the results of examinations by the medical team. “Two prospective Hajj pilgrims are facing health-related obstacles that have delayed their departure; we will follow their progress,” said the Head of the Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) for Jambi Province, Wahyudi, at the Hajj Dormitory in Jambi City on Tuesday. He confirmed that the two pilgrims from Merangin Regency could not be sent off based on a certificate from the Class II Jambi Health Quarantine Centre (BKK). Based on the examination results, he said, Muhammad Ali was diagnosed with kidney failure (CKD stage five), while Suradi Kartawiyono was suffering from lung inflammation (pneumonia). The Hajj pilgrims in Kloter 19 who were sent off numbered 444 people, a combination from Kerinci Regency with 156 people, Merangin 279 people, Muaro Jambi three people, plus two officers from the Hajj and Umrah Worship Guidance Group (KBIHU) and four regional Hajj officers. “The oxygen level in the blood (of Suradi Kartawiyono) is low; we see potential for it to normalise in two days, and that could allow us to combine him with an empty flight group, most likely Kloter 25,” Wahyudi explained.
