The Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) for West Sumatra has announced that the first flight of Hajj pilgrims for the Padang embarkation is scheduled to arrive at Minangkabau International Airport on Wednesday (3/6) afternoon. The first group is expected to land at 18:15 WIB via a Garuda Indonesia Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, according to the Head of the West Sumatra Kemenhaj Regional Office, M. Rifki.

The arrival process will follow operational standards similar to the departure procedures. Upon disembarking, pilgrims will be directed to pre-arranged buses on the airport apron. Ten buses will transport the pilgrims to the Padang Embarkation Hajj Hostel. To expedite the process and ensure comfort after their long journey, Immigration officers will conduct passport inspections and stamping directly on the buses.

Upon arrival at the hostel, all pilgrims will be directed to the main hall for health screenings conducted by the Health Quarantine Centre, which includes X-ray inspections of luggage. Additionally, officers will utilise thermal scanners to monitor body temperatures and assess the health status of pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia. Any individual found with a body temperature exceeding 38 degrees Celsius will undergo further medical observation. Officials have also confirmed that all luggage will be handled by staff to allow pilgrims to focus on the arrival proceedings. The process will conclude with the formal handover of pilgrims from the flight officers to the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) of the Padang Embarkation.
