Padang (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) in West Sumatra (Sumbar) has completed health examinations and document checks for the pilgrims of flight group (kloter) 14, the final group from Padang embarkation.

“Upon arrival at the Hajj embarkation, all prospective pilgrims immediately undergo integrated one-stop services by the officers,” said the Head of Kemenhaj Sumbar, M. Rifki, in Padang on Friday.

Overall, all stages of health examinations, including the pilgrims’ documents, proceeded smoothly. This means hundreds of kloter 14 pilgrims are ready to be flown to the Holy Land on Saturday (9/5) at 10.05 WIB.

Rifki, who is also the Chairman of the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) for Padang embarkation, stated that kloter 14 is scheduled to fly from Minangkabau International Airport in Padang Pariaman Regency using Garuda Indonesia’s Boeing 777 with flight number GA3514.

This final kloter is a combined group from 15 regencies and cities in Sumbar, plus pilgrims from Bengkulu Province, with a total of 287 people. The group consists of 177 female pilgrims and 110 males. The oldest pilgrim is recorded at 84 years old, and the youngest at 18 years.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of kloter 14 from Padang embarkation, Muhammad Nur Ali, reminded the pilgrims that Hajj is an act of worship closely related to physical condition. Therefore, everyone is urged to maintain their physical fitness ahead of the peak Hajj worship in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.

“Our pilgrims are asked to truly maintain their stamina, get enough rest, be disciplined in eating, and drink plenty of water,” he advised.

For the 1447 Hijriah Hajj season, the local embarkation is dispatching 5,402 prospective pilgrims from Ranah Minang and Bengkulu.
