The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has confirmed that prospective central and regional hajj officers will receive the same one-month training in preparation for the 1448 Hijri/2027 pilgrimage.

“We have noted this evaluation and, God willing, in 2027 we will conduct the same preparation for both, a full one month,” said Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday.

The statement was made in response to information regarding differences in service provided by central hajj officers (PPIH) and regional hajj officers to Indonesian pilgrims in the Holy Land.

“Indeed, there is a difference because the preparation is different. We prepare PPIH for one month, while regional hajj officers are prepared for about a week or ten days,” he said.

Menhaj Irfan considers standardising the training period crucial to improving service quality for pilgrims and ensuring all officers have equal readiness in the field.

“To date, we have received report cards from all hajj officers. We have asked the team to provide each individual’s report,” he said.

He added that the evaluation results will serve as the basis for the Ministry to give appreciation to officers who demonstrated the best performance during the hajj operations.

“We will give awards to the best performers,” said Menhaj Irfan.
