Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Proposes Pilgrims Pay Rp 42.8 Million for 2027 Hajj

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has proposed that prospective pilgrims pay around Rp 42.8 million for the 1448 Hijri/2027 Hajj season. The total proposed cost of the pilgrimage (BPIH) is Rp 107 million. Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that the proposal involves changing the financing composition between the travel cost (Bipih) paid by pilgrims and the value-managed funds from the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) compared to the previous season. He explained that the proposed BPIH of Rp 107 million was calculated rationally, taking into account increases in several cost components. These increases are influenced by rising aviation fuel prices, flight tariffs, and various services provided by the Saudi Arabian government, such as hotel accommodation and tent facilities in Masyair. Despite these factors, the ministry emphasised it does not wish to burden prospective pilgrims amidst ongoing global economic uncertainty. Therefore, the government has proposed to the House of Representatives’ Commission VIII that pilgrims pay approximately 40 per cent of the total BPIH, with the remaining 60 per cent covered through value-managed funds from BPKH.
