Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Launches Hajj and Umrah Store App to Facilitate Pilgrims' Souvenir Shopping
TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has launched the Hajj and Umrah Store app as an innovation to strengthen and facilitate Hajj services for pilgrims.
Indonesian Hajj and Umrah Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, known as Gus Irfan, stated that the app is designed to facilitate the shopping needs for souvenirs and logistics, enabling more focused worship.
“Tonight, we will begin the launch of the Hajj and Umrah Store app. We present this app so that pilgrims do not have their focus divided by souvenir shopping and logistics matters. Pilgrims can worship more devoutly, while other needs are well facilitated,” explained Gus Irfan at the opening of the National Hajj Coordination Meeting for the Consolidation of the 1447 Hijriah or 2026 CE Hajj Implementation at the Tangerang Hajj Dormitory on Wednesday night (9/4/2026).
This is done to ensure the smooth mobility of pilgrims upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.
“We called representatives of the syarikah; they stated that the Nusuk cards are already 100 percent available in Indonesia. It’s just a matter of distribution and activation later,” said Irfan.
“This year, we are emphasising transparency and accountability very much. Especially transparency in deciding which vendors will serve us,” he added.
Gus Irfan said that he and Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak do not interfere in deciding which vendors pass the selection.
“We don’t want to meddle in determining the winners,” he said.
He stressed that various negative notes from previous Hajj implementations must not recur.
“Problems such as separated families, delays in Nusuk distribution, consumption on the days of Tashriq, and transportation must be taken seriously. There is no tolerance,” said Irfan.
