Ministry of Hajj and Umrah: Indonesian Pilgrims in Second Departure Phase Move from Mina to Mecca
Makkah - Ministry of Hajj and Umrah states that Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the second departure phase have begun moving to Mecca following the completion of the overnight stay in Mina on the third day of Tashriq, Saturday, corresponding to 13 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH.
Spokesperson Ichsan Marsha said the main Hajj rituals at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) have proceeded smoothly, orderly, and under control.
‘Alhamdulillah, after pilgrims performed the standing at Arafah, overnight stay at Muzdalifah and Mina, and stoning the jamarat during the Tashriq days, some Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the second departure phase are now completing their rites by stoning the jamarat on the third Tashriq day,’ Ichsan said in Mina.
He expressed appreciation for Indonesian pilgrims following officers’ instructions, maintaining order, and moving to Jamarat according to schedule.
Discipline among pilgrims is crucial for ensuring smooth, safe, and comfortable operations during the Mina phase.
On the third Tashriq day, pilgrims in the second departure phase stoned three jamarat pillars: Ula, Wustha, and Aqabah.
‘We urge all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the second departure phase to complete the stoning as scheduled, then return to their tents in Mina to prepare for movement to Mecca,’ Ichsan said.
He stressed the importance of this to ensure orderly, safe, and coordinated departure from Mina to Mecca, avoiding congestion on transit routes.
Pilgrims are also advised to follow officers’ instructions, maintain order, ensure belongings are not left behind, and prepare according to departure schedules for smooth services and collective comfort.
Ichsan explained the Ministry has deployed Mina Task Force officers at various monitoring points and movement routes. A total of 1,356 Mina Task Force officers are on standby to support services, monitor, regulate pilgrim flow, and respond to on-ground needs.
Mina Task Force monitoring posts are strategically placed at locations including Road 616, Road 533, in front of Mina Al-Wadi Hospital, Road 627, under Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Road, the Muaisim Turkey tunnel entrance, in front of Syarikah, and various directing points for movement to Jamarat and monitoring departure routes after stoning.
From Saturday morning Saudi Arabia time, pilgrims in the second departure phase began departing Mina for Mecca to return to their respective hotels.
The Ministry warned that traffic to hotels is expected to be heavy with possible route diversions.
‘We urge pilgrims to remain patient and calm during the journey to hotels. We aim to drop them off at hotel entrances, but if road closures prevent this, buses will drop them at the nearest location. We appreciate their understanding and cooperation,’ Ichsan said.
The Ministry also reminded pilgrims to maintain health, as daytime temperatures in Mina remain high. They advised drinking plenty of water, regular meals, using umbrellas or head coverings outdoors, and limiting unnecessary physical activity.
For elderly, disabled, female pilgrims, and those with high health risks, the Ministry urged family members, group leaders, team leaders, and fellow pilgrims to provide extra care.
‘We again call on all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to maintain unity, assist one another, remind each other, and look out for each other. Mutual cooperation and brotherhood are vital for a safe, orderly, comfortable, and blessed Hajj,’ Ichsan said.
