Ministry of Hajj and Umrah: Collaboration with BKN to Ensure Objective Selection Process

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has emphasised its collaboration with the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) to ensure that the selection of Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) candidates is conducted objectively, measurably, transparently, and accountably.

“This year, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is engaging the BKN in the implementation of the Computer Assisted Test (CAT). This is a crucial step to ensure the selection process is transparent, objective, and professional,” said the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Services at the Ministry, Puji Raharjo, in Jakarta on Saturday.

The implementation of the Computer Assisted Test (CAT) for the first wave of candidates for the Saudi Arabia PPIH and the Non-Health Worker PPIH was attended by 1,344 individuals. The testing was conducted simultaneously across 35 locations, including BKN offices and technical implementation units in various regions.

For the Saudi Arabia PPIH, the selection covers six service areas: Worship Guidance, Accommodation, Catering, Transportation, Elderly and Disabled Pilgrims, and the Hajj Media Centre.

“What we are looking for are participants who possess technical skills, integrity, managerial competence, and a service-oriented mindset towards the pilgrims,” he stated.

He noted that Hajj officials will eventually face diverse pilgrim needs, including those of elderly pilgrims and persons with disabilities. Therefore, technical proficiency must be accompanied by mental readiness, integrity, and a commitment to service.

“Hajj officials are a vital part of the face of Hajj services. Therefore, the process of selecting them must be carried out professionally and accountably,” said Puji.

The implementation of the CAT across 35 BKN locations and technical units also makes it easier for participants to take the exam from their respective regions. The CAT results will serve as one of the assessment components in the series of PPIH selections for the 1448 H/2027 Hajj season.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensures that the selection process prioritises the principles of integrity and professionalism to recruit officials who possess both the competence and the strong commitment required to provide the best service to pilgrims.
