Ministry of Hajj and Umrah: 62 percent of Indonesian pilgrims have arrived home

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has announced that 62 percent of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have arrived back in the country as of Saturday (20/6). Kemenhaj Spokesperson Maria Assegaff encouraged pilgrims to make their return from the Holy Land a starting point for bringing broader benefits to their families, communities, and society. She noted that values nurtured during the Hajj pilgrimage, such as patience, discipline, compassion, brotherhood, and sincerity, must be maintained after the pilgrims return home. Maria stated that the compliance and discipline of pilgrims during the repatriation process also determine the smoothness of services. Kemenhaj expressed appreciation for pilgrims who have complied with flight regulations, including not carrying Zamzam water in checked baggage or cabin bags. “Pilgrims’ compliance not only eases the inspection process but also maintains flight security and safety. Zamzam water has been prepared and will be officially distributed at each debarkation point, so pilgrims do not need to carry it in their suitcases,” said Maria. Maria also reminded pilgrims to safeguard their passports, Hajj identity cards, boarding passes, and other important documents during the journey. Pilgrims were asked not to entrust documents to unauthorised parties and to immediately report to officers if they experience loss or difficulties. “Approaching the return, do not let joy make pilgrims careless. Ensure documents are always under supervision, recheck your belongings, and follow all instructions from officers until you arrive in your respective regions,” Maria stated. As of Saturday (20/6), a total of 267 flight groups, or kloter, have been dispatched via King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah. This number consists of 103,687 pilgrims and 1,066 officers, bringing the total repatriated through Jeddah to 104,753 people. Meanwhile, via Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah, 70 kloter have been dispatched carrying 26,898 pilgrims and 281 officers, with a total of 27,179 people. Cumulatively, 329 kloter have arrived in Indonesia, comprising 127,709 pilgrims and 1,316 officers. Thus, the total number of pilgrims and officers who have returned to the homeland has reached 129,025 people. The movement of pilgrims from Makkah to Madinah is also ongoing. To date, 226 kloter consisting of 86,592 pilgrims and 904 officers have been dispatched, totalling 87,496 people. The number of special Hajj pilgrims who have returned to Indonesia is 15,802 people, consisting of 15,066 pilgrims and 736 officers. Maria conveyed appreciation to all pilgrims, Hajj Organising Officers, kloter officers, health workers, sector officers, and all supporting elements who continue to work to ensure the repatriation process runs safely, orderly, and smoothly. Appreciation was also extended to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all relevant authorities for their support and cooperation during the organisation of the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj pilgrimage. “From the Holy Land, pilgrims bring home not only longing for their families but also the spirit of mabrur. May this return be the beginning of spreading goodness and building a better civilisation,” said Maria.
